About Pink Amethyst

Pink Amethyst entered the gem and mineral market only recently, with notable material from Patagonia, Argentina appearing commercially in 2017. Its discovery drew attention for revealing an unusual pink variety of Amethyst forming in defined crystals and geode-like formations—a striking contrast to the more massive, cloudy growth typically associated with Rose Quartz.

Its delicate color is more complex than simply being “pink Amethyst.” Research on the Patagonian material found its coloration is associated with iron and microscopic Hematite-related inclusions within the Quartz, producing tones that can shift from pale blush to deeper pink and violet.
