About Selenite

Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, known for its distinctive pearly-to-satin luster and remarkable interaction with light. Its name comes from Selene, the ancient Greek goddess of the moon—a fitting reference for a mineral with such an unmistakably luminous appearance.

Connected with clarity, cleansing, intuition, and spiritual renewal, Selenite is commonly used to clear stagnant energy and create a more peaceful environment. Associated with the Crown Chakra, it is also a favorite for meditation, intention setting, and spiritual practice.
