Named for Marcel Vogel (1917–1991), a research scientist with IBM who later devoted his work to the study of quartz crystal properties, the “Vogel cut” is a precision faceted form inspired by his theories on crystal geometry and directed intention.
Unlike natural quartz points, Vogel-style crystals are intentionally shaped and polished to specific proportions and angles:
• Double terminated and fully faceted
• Cut in alignment with the quartz crystal’s C-axis
• Polished to precise internal angles based on Vogel’s design principles
• Finished with a wider “receptive” end and a narrower “transmitter” end termination
In Vogel’s framework, the broader "female" termination—often faceted to approximately 51°—was intended to correspond symbolically to the geometry associated with the Great Pyramid at Giza. The opposing "male" termination is cut at a more acute angle to create directional flow. While these proportions are derived from Vogel’s metaphysical research rather than mineralogical standards, they remain true to traditional Vogel design.
Both of our Vogels feature a 12-facet configuration, a format commonly associated within Vogel methodology with balance and structured symmetry. In metaphysical practice, these crystals are used for focused meditation, intentional work, and energy alignment.
